Unlike tour companies, we don’t just use a cookie-cutter itinerary for every trip. Each trip is unique and incorporates local events like summer festivals, markets, and the weather. We provide our curated schedules to the group a week before the trip, but here’s an outline of how we plan to journey through Portugal this summer!
Olá! Turn in that OOO notification at work and meet your crew at an outdoor terrace for a chill first night of getting to know each other. Drinks are in order.
Take the morning to acclimatize to Lisbon and its hipster coffee shops. Walk around town and make yourself at home. It’ll prep you for the 10+ courses you’re going to eat at different family-owned local restaurants around town in our Lisbon Food Tasting experience! Expect our local friends and chefs to join in.
Somewhere beyond the sea…lies Sintra, a charming town on the outskirts of Lisbon. We’ll visit the historic Moorish ruins and whimsical palaces in Sintra on a 4×4. After Sintra, we’ll take our wheels to Cabo Da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, and then onwards for a sunset over the ocean.
The morning is yours to explore – walk around the trendy streets of Alfama, take the old yellow trams, paddleboard in Praia Do Creiro, or grab a pastel de nata in Belem. In the evening, put on a summer dress and join us for a sunset out on the water. We’ll enjoy some blissful views of Lisbon, and yes, there will be wine!
Take the train in the morning to the wine capital – Porto. Settle into your new home, and meet up in the afternoon to learn how to make pastel de natas from scratch. To cap the evening, we have a beautiful sunset spot in mind.
Bordering Portugal and Spain, this national park is located 90 minutes from Porto. We’ll spend an adventurous day kayaking on calm waters, swimming around waterfalls, and savoring local food. We’ll stop at a local restaurant with amazing views of Rio Cavado, and visit the old village of Fafio to learn about Portuguese life in the countryside.
For those who want to relax, you can skip the national park and instead take the day to explore the amazing town of Porto!
Of course, save the best for last! The Douro region is known for its wine, so we’ll be hosting a bougie wine tasting experience as our farewell (guys – bring a linen shirt). We’ll briefly hike around the valley and eat our last meal together with bold wine in a stunning setting.
We’ve scouted high class boutique apartments in trendy neighborhoods in Lisbon and Porto. Each apartment has private rooms for all our members. Our goal is to live, eat, and drink in the neighborhoods we travel to – so we don’t do shared hotels or hostels. Here’s the type of apartments we stay at in Portugal:
Combine your journey with a week in Greece or a week in Croatia, and we’ll cover your flight between cities!
