Unlike tour companies, we don’t just use a cookie-cutter itinerary for every trip. Each trip is unique and incorporates local events like summer festivals, markets, and the weather. We provide our curated schedules to the group a week before the trip, but here’s how we plan to explore Greece this summer!
Meet your crew in the heart of Koukaki’s hip bar scene. Get your creative juices flowing and create your very own cocktail with the help of a professional mixologist
After some much-needed rest and Greek coffee, we’ll wander through the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka to discover its local life. We’ll stop at authentic family-owned shops to try local delicacies and explore the weekly Sunday flea market. We’ll wrap up this day with a walk up Philoppapos hill for sunset views of the Acropolis.
Take this day to wander around Athens or hop on board our traditional Greek sailing boat for a full day trip in the Saronic Gulf. First, we’ll stop at the island of Aegina. Its authentic vibe, ancient sites and alluring beaches make it a perfect first stop. The lush island of Agistri is next, and we’ll get to discover its mesmerizing beaches and snorkel the crystal-clear waters of Aponissos.
This 19th century former royal retreat was the result of Queen Amalia’s creativity. It is an unexpected peaceful haven in Athens’ outskirts. This breathtaking estate includes a beautiful garden, an organic vineyard and olive groves to name a few. We’ll learn all about the estate’s fascinating history and sample their excellent organic wines.
There will be plenty of time for a visit to the Acropolis—Athens’ world-renowned historical site that provides a valuable glimpse of Ancient Greece.
In the morning we’ll set off on our journey to Zakynthos. A visit to a quaint organic farm with views of the Ionian Sea will be our warm welcome to the island. We’ll learn about the locally produced olive oil (and taste it, of course!) and get to prepare some delectable Greek dishes.
We’ll take kayaks to explore the coast and paddle over to the islet of Marathonisi, also known as Turtle island due to its shape. It is also a vital breeding ground for turtles. We’ll snorkel in the turquoise waters and, if we’re lucky, spot these magnificent turtles.
For our last day together, we’ll hop on board our private yacht to take the sea-nic route around the island. We’ll see the shipwreck at the famous Navagio beach, Blue Caves, impressive limestone cliffs and secluded beaches. Bask on the sun deck, snorkel or take in the awe-inspiring views. We can’t think of a better way to wrap up this adventure in Greece.
In Athens we’ll be staying in the trendy district of Koukaki, a former low-key residential area in the city center that transformed into an artistic area full of hip coffee shops. In Zakynthos, the island’s pedestrian-friendly capital will be our home. This town offers fabulous sunset views from Bochali hill and boasts an idyllic seafront promenade that’s ideal for morning walks.
Our goal is to live, eat, and drink in the neighborhoods we travel to, so we don’t do shared hotels or hostels. Each apartment in Greece has private rooms in 2-3 bedroom apartments that are selected to give you that homely feel abroad. Here are pictures of what our apartments look like in Athens and Zakynthos.
